Welcome to the Best of Dubai – Top Picks from Monica for this week – I eat out a lot!

Some new places, some well established. They’re my latest Top Picks for value, taste, quality and vibe.

Best of Dubai – COFFEE

Flat White

Location ODEON Restaurant and Cafe – Jumeirah 3 just parallel to beach road.

Price AED 28

Good to Know

Coffee was perfect strength, super hot served at a pretty table in exactly the right sized cup. See further down this post for the breakfast here.

Fabulous for a civilized catch up with friends or family. Easy parking behind the restaurant and close to the beach too. French feels.. do check out the market area downstairs.

The cheeses make great foodie gifts!

Best of Dubai – DESSERT

Matcha Ice Cream served with red bean paste – 1 scoop. See feature picture above.

Location DIN TAI FUNG 2nd floor Mall of Emirates

Price AED 16

Good to Know

Very tasty, authentic flavour of proper matcha ice cream, perfect after a spicy meal here.

And note the 1 scoop portion is more than enough for 2 people to share, so this is a great value dessert.

A good choice for visitors coming to shop in the mall. Also at Dubai Mall, assuming it’s the same price.

Best of Dubai – SUSHI

Spicy Tuna hand roll, one of a set of three.

Location KOKORO Hand Roll restaurant in Al Serkal Avenue Al Quoz

Price AED 30 if you get the set of 3 which costs AED 90

Good to Know

No bookings before hand, just walk ins, very limited choice for vegetarians here.

Fabulous vibe, not cheap, but excellent quality. Originally from Texas, but “This Ain’t Texas!”

Best of Dubai – VEGAN

Seaweed on guacamole with flax seed crackers.

Location COMPTOIR 102 Jumeirah 1

Price AED 65

Good to Know

The flax seed crackers are gluten free too, so this is vegan and gluten free meal. Perfect for sharing. Sit in their covered terrace, still cool till about 11am or so. Very cool vibe and nice gift shop. Also a nice beauty bar as well. Do check it out.

Good to Know

Comes with delicious sourdough toast, beautiful dauphinois type potato bite and a grilled tomato and some asparagus.

Served in a gorgeous setting, with fresh roses on the table. Great value for portion size and this quality. Perfect after a beach walk, when it’s not too hot!
