BEST FILMS – DUBAI FILM FESTIVAL

And my favourites from the Dubai Film Festival were : The Descendants It was difficult to categorise this film, yes it was funny in a cool way, but a key part of the plot is mum lying in a coma, the film doesn’t dwell at all on the issues surrounding the need to turn off the machines keeping her alive, but rather on all the problems she caused while conscious in her role as wife and mother. Set in Hawaii, you can almost feel the balmy breezes on your face while watching this film and the fresh, tropical lushness of the flowers and foliage is

INTERNATIONAL MOVIES AT DIFF

For one week Dubai plays host to a fantastic International Film Festival. This year the date’s are from the 7th to the 14th of December. There are in total 171 films from 56 countries. 46 are World Premieres. There is a Cinema of the World section and a funky Midnight Mayhem selection of late night chillers. Children aged 2 and under are free. However this

Fancy a Bollywood Movie in Dubai? Well, Aamir Khan’s much hyped Delhi Belly was released this week and Dubai’s Mirdiff City Centre’s 7pm Saturday show was packed. We got some of the last seats in the 2nd row from the screen. Interestingly the film was rated an 18+ here in Dubai, but was a 15 in the UK. Well, seeing is believing but if it were named Carry on Farting you’d have a clearer idea of what the film was about! A comic caper with a thin storyline that isn’t clever or that funny (to me) but nonetheless is brilliant

STUDY TIPS AND TARGET SETTING

You could try to get your school to incorporate some or all of them into targets that can be followed up at a later date. Improved handwriting, most of the gcse coursework, exams and internal school tests still require students to write with a pen and not type. Make it easier for the
