NEWEST CHRISTMAS MARKET AT THE ST REGIS AHC
Hot off the press, announced yesterday, check out the newest venue for a full Christmas Market and Tree Lighting!
All the festive food and drink trimmings you'd expect at a Winter Garden Christmas Market here. So warm traditional Christmas beverages if you imbibe or some thick, hot chocolate if you don't!
Located in the Versailles garden at the St Regis in Al Habtoor City.
Opening times: From WEDNESDAY 7th Dec, turn up from 6pm onwards, then on it's open from 12 noon on weekends and from 5pm on a week day, till the 31st of December.
How big do you think 16 meters (height of the tree) is in feet?
Entry to the Festive Winter Wonderland is FREE but then you purchase whatever you consume from the stalls representing The Westin, The St Regis and the W hotel!
What would Santa turn up on instead of a sleigh in Dubai?! It begins with B.

NEW MEAT FREE AT BAKER AND SPICE
Only available at the Town Centre Mall in Jumeirah, Baker and Spice have a meat free offering every Monday and on it is something very NEW!
I LOVED the sound of of the "Chicken" Pot pie that's made from creamy mushrooms, onions, leek and butter puff pastry!
Go to the Town Centre on a Monday to try the Pot pie out as this is going to be on offer as a vegetarian main course.
BUT there's a secret ingredient, what do you think the "chicken" is?
Baker and Spice would be one of my Top Picks for a Christmas Take Out as they use organic produce wherever possible. The Meat Free Monday menu is AED 79 for 2 courses.

DOWNTOWN TOKO HAS RE-OPENED
Downtown Toko at the Vida hotel has re-opened after a refurb and it's now serving Pan Asian breakfast, lunch and dinner!
I love the garden out back here, very atmospheric and perfect for our weather now. They are trying to make it much more accessible so they've lowered their prices by 30%. Good thinking in tough times.
We didn't try an extensive range from the menu, as this was a media event, but I recommend the brown rice sushi very highly.

RARE AT THE DESERT PALM RE-OPENED
Rare, the main restaurant at the Desert Palm, has re-opened after an extensive refurbishment.
What's NEW is the way they're cooking their meat and fish, no josper ovens here, they are using an oak wood fire grill.
There's a brand new chef from Brazil, her name's Joanna and she cooking everything Asado style! But if you thought that was mainly meat, you'd be wrong! I love the sound of some salt crust roasted vegetables!
I'd say book for Christmas but they're full, totally full!
But you could still try it for a special New Year's Eve dinner, with a live bag piper playing Auld Lang Syne at midnight along with some very classy bubbles!
The Red bar, on the same terrace also has the BEST VALUE NYE deal in Dubai I think. At AED 50 for your first drink/entry then pay as you go food and drink. No pricey package. Why not invest in spending the night here in one of their villas instead of shelling out a fortune in taxi money to get home on New Year's Eve?
Well Done Desert Palm.

IT'S FOODIE FINALE FROM THE IVY
It seems the best way to fill a restaurant is to announce that it's closing!
Add to that the fact that's it's a classic British restaurant and it's nearly Christmas, sit back and watch the bookings come in! Why not try out their Christmas offering at AED 190 before you dish out a much larger amount for the big day to be sure it's what you want!
