Chocolate Brownies - no flour or nuts
This chocolate brownie recipe has no flour or nuts. Neither does it have butter or sugar! Too good to be true? Absolutely not, it’s fabulous, so why not give it a go? Another lockdown first recipe for me!

I’ve used a small quantity here that I thought would last at least 4 or 5 days in the fridge. These chocolate brownies with no flour or nuts lasted precisely 2 days! So make in a larger batch if you need to!
Ingredients
- Chocolate 200 grams
I used 2 bars of Lindt dark chocolate 70 %. Adjust to your taste, maybe one 85% and one 70% would be less sweet?
- Eggs 3 medium
Use organic if you prefer
- grapeseed oil 1/4 cup
The original recipe called for coconut oil but worked out fine with Grapeseed oil too
- dates 200 grams
they have to weigh about 200 grams after you have taken the seeds out. Any will do but the seghai or mejdool are good
- Bicarbonate of Soda 1/2 TSP
- vanilla 1 dessertspoon
Use the best quality vanilla you can get, don't fret if you don't have any though
How to Make
- Whiz up the chocolate and bicarbonate of soda first
Doesn't have to be even textured, just rough
- Whiz up the dates
Doing it this way means the dates will mop up the last crumbs of chocolate!
- Whiz up the eggs, oil and vanilla
So all the wet ingredients together Then mix the whole mixture up together
- Pour the whole mixture into an oven proof dish
I used a rectangular one from IKEA that can go straight to the table, about 20 cm by 10 cm
- how long in the oven
Bake for about 17 to 20 minutes at 175 degrees. Check that the brownies are spongy in the middle! Wait till cool to cut into squares the size you prefer.
Try this! Add a handful of frozen raspberries into your mixture just before baking for a great variation on this dish!ย
