Welcome to the Cocktail Kitchen Friday Brunch just 2 weeks old (1st April 2016) we were invited to try it out
Based on our earlier experience of their fabulous lunch deal at AED 59 we had great expectations of the Cocktail Kitchen Friday Brunch.
We visited on an unseasonally rainy day so were glad to be inside! The Cocktail Kitchen is bright with a lot of natural light; it didn’t feel gloomy at all!
Food at the Cocktail Kitchen Friday Brunch
There is an a la carte menu instead of the usual go and help yourself set up. I really liked that as it meant everyone was around the table at the same time. The menu isn’t extensive but there is ample choice with a selection of chicken, lamb, beef, seafood and a couple of vegetarian choices.
The burrata salad and frito misto were both very popular on our table. But our neighbours were really enjoying the eggs benedict croissant, so very good if you have a big appetite!
The seafood paella was impressive and made for sharing as were all the dishes. But I liked the mushroom risotto best from the main courses, this was quite a rich dish so I couldn’t eat too much of it. My friends really liked the lamb and we all agreed that the beetroot and sweet potato chips were an excellent garnish.
I would have liked to have tried the vegetable lasagne, but was on a mainly non vegetarian table! There’s always a next time!
The Cocktails
If you like your cocktails with gorgeous garnishes, then this is the brunch for you. On offer are some very impressive looking cocktails including one that was served in a can! Loved this Bloody Mary idea. Could have been a tiny bit spicier for me though.
The mocktails also got a thumbs up from our table.
Prices for the Cocktail Kitchen Friday Brunch
There are 3 packages:
- With house beverages and cocktails AED 345
- A Bubbly deal AED 395
- and without the alcoholic element AED 195
Prices include any number of items from the a la carte menu and drinks.
The Brunch happens every Friday from 1pm till 4pm onwards and Cocktail Kitchen is located in Cluster P of Dubai’s JLT area.
You can take your own records, if you have any and ask for them to be played while you dine.
Areas for Improvement
I’d have liked my Bloody Mary a little spicier and
my mushroom risotto a little less salty please!
As I’d already tried the very good Padron Peppers I’d have really loved those on the menu as well.
I would suggest that an additional, cheaper package option is added for those who don’t want unlimited drinks but want to enjoy just a couple of drinks.
Thanks Monica
