THE ATLANTIC INSTEAD OF MANGO TREE
A very smart seafood place has opened in Souk Al Bahar. Eat inside at a formal dining table, on the terrace by the Fountain show or quietly at the bar. We loved the soft shell crab and creamy lobster bisque soup. But the snails weren't as we expected!

NEW BRITISH BREAKFAST ON THE BEACH
Retro Feasts isn't new but their breakfast menu and seating area certainly is! We interviewed the chef/owner Luke Thomas, originally from Wales about what inspired him to start cooking. Now the youngest celeb chef, owner of 2 or 3 venues, a new one opening in Shoreditch in London this summer. We liked the avocado on toast, the cappucinos and the nutella French toast with banana. At The Beach at JBR.

BAGATELLE IS BACK WITH A NEW BAND
Try the new Jazz at the Bistrot night at Bistrot Bagatelle on a Saturday night. We tried the menu on a Sunday and loved all our dishes. High quality French food cooked under the supervision of Timothy Newton, the American chef who opened La Petite Maison. I recommend the yellowfin tuna and avocado timbale AED 85 and the roasted prawns on a bed of smoked corn puree AED 180. Go retro for your dessert and try the Alaska Flambee with rocky road ice cream AED 75. If the jazz is half is as good as the food, then this is a classy, high quality night out and I'd do it again. Bring back Bille at the Bagatelle!

MAKING SOME TIME FOR TEA AND MORE AT TWG
TWG tea has just opened a new branch in Festival City Mall. We tried the food here at original Dubai Mall branch and loved it. What a find! All the way from Singapore and nothing to do with Twinings! So many varieties of Tea from 36 different countries! I recommend Silver Moon, one of the owner's favourites. But don't go without trying the food! Everything is infused very cleverly with tea! I recommend the crab and avocado starter and the black cod. Very civilized dining at affordable prices. I'm going back and recommending to visitors.

ONES TO LISTEN OUT FOR
There's a new Peruvian in town, yes another one, this time it's LIMA from London, now based in City Walk and it's licensed as it's attached to La Ville hotel, but kind of remotely!
Still in City Walk, we have DESMOISELLE, a Galvin brothers restaurant again from London but I believe also licensed. I've tried 2 Galvin restaurants in London, both excellent, so I'm guessing it's more high quality French style food here. Review of Windows on the World here.
FOLLY by Nick and Scott (originally of Table 9, then the Taste Kitchen) has also opened, this time we're in the Madinat Jumeirah so we get spectacular views of the Burj Al Arab, private dining at special Chef's tables. Choose from 24 different sharing plates of tasty sounding food! Evenings could be good here.
and one I really want to go to if I can find a way in! The MENAGERIE in Mirdiff. A wholesome eaterie serving Kold pressed juices and chia and berry layered pots. Take me there now please! All to come on Food News and Reviews.
And lunch tomorrow at the new Address Boulevard hotel where I'm eating in the new Apartment style restaurant!
Thanks so much Neha, are you a foodie yourself? Where have you eaten in Dubai recently you’d recommend? Would love to know! Warmest regards
Monica.
