Koreana is an authentic, reasonably priced Korean restaurant just past Mall of the Emirates, with easy parking and tasty food. It serves both Korean and Japanese food, the night we tried it for dinner we had the usual Kimchi (comes automatically) in the form of chilli cabbage, cucumbers, bean shoots and potato and ordered the barbeque cooked at the table, choices are chicken, beef or seafood.
The Chicken gyozas we had to start with were plump and well filled and the sushi was plentiful as well but more Korean than Japanese style in that the fillings were more vegetarian than raw fish. The owners are Korean and regularly get involved in the kitchen, so authenticity is assured and perhaps confirmed by the many oriental diners in the restaurant. Usefully menus are explained in Korean and English which is helpful for those of us who aren’t too familiar with the range of Korean cuisine.
Mr Son has been running the Koreana restaurant for years but in Satwa where parking was getting quite difficult, the new location behind Hacker Kitchens in Sheikh Zayed Road near the 2nd Ibis hotel is much more convenient for his customers. Try it as a change to your local places, it’s great not having to walk through a mall to get to a restaurant and let me know what you think of Korean Cuisine in Dubai.
Koreana Restaurant is located in Al Barsha 1, parallel to Sheikh Zayed road past Emirates Mall in the direction of Abu Dhabi, near the 2nd Ibis hotel (not the one just behind Mall of Emirates) near Hacker Kitchens. It has moved here from Satwa, parking is easy right in front of the restaurant. Service is helpful and friendly, menus are in Korean and English.

It’s open for lunch (not during Ramadan of course) between 11.30 and 3.30 am and for dinner from 6.30 to 11.30 pm. Families are welcomed and the night we visited there were many Orientals and Western expats dining there.

And if you happen to be in London and want your fix of Korean food, try the buzzing Kimchee restaurant in High Holborn. Reasonably priced and authentic Korean food, made modern by this happening restaurant. We had dumplings called Mantu, an excellent salmon bbq and according to my friends, the beef was beautiful !
You have to pay £2.50 for the Kimchi though, ouch !
