It's finally open! Dukes Dubai, the sister branch of Dukes London is open at the Oceana building on the Palm Jumeirah! We had a good look round last week and had lunch at the GBR that stands for Great British Restaurant. Expect very high quality British food here, served in elegant surroundings. I think everything on the menu would be delicious here. But I recommend the dover sole AED 165, the organic salmon AED 135 (pictured here)  and the fish pie made with monk fish cheeks AED 140!  Did I mention the mash potatoes with gravy? You'll have to leave room for dessert though! I recommend their take on the English Classic chocolate bar - The Walnut Whip AED 55. Chef Martin Cahill is from the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, so the standard of cuisine is stratospheric here! Open for lunch and dinner. Did you know Dukes has an Ladies Only floor in the hotel? Everything is especially designed for ladies including the slippers, gowns and you even go directly to a ladies only breakfast lounge too! I haven't seen the champagne bar, but it looks just like the one in London, all pink and green!

Sometimes you have to give in to decadent desserts and when you do I suggest you surrender your tastebuds in the Great British Restaurant at Dukes Dubai on the Palm Jumeirah ! Things looking up for Ladies at the Look Up Bar on the 5th floor of La Ville, a new deal for ladies. 2 complimentary beverages with canapes, then only AED 20 for every extra beverage! Very stylish views too.

Totora - the beautifully designed Peruvian restaurant in DIFC is now closed! Not open quite a year....! And Mayta another Peruvian, this time on the 3rd floor of the Capital Club again in DIFC Gate Village is moving to D3!

There's a new Peruvian in town, yes another one, this time it's LIMA from London, now based in City Walk and it's licensed as it's attached to La Ville hotel, but kind of remotely! I LOVED my lunch here last Saturday and I'd go again. It's modern, with cool design features, not as plush as Coya, but still very smart. Try the ceviches, we had sea bass, that was Catch of the Day, try the causas, we know that's the Peruvian potatotes, and purple's my favourite kind. I'm not big on chicken but I really liked my dish here, ask for Chicken breast Pachamanca AED 110, served on a sizzling plate! The chocolate avocado mousse is a bit an acquired taste but the Peruvian Suspiro is really good, esp at AED 50! Or try 3 scoops of Andean or Amazonian sorbets for AED 35. I want to go again, soon.
