REVIEWS

COPPER DOG
All the way from Speyside in Scotland to the 1st floor of the Double Tree Hilton in Jumeirah. Classy, British food in a cosy dining space with an excellent range of whiskies to match.
There are specials every day, I loved the lamb shepherds pie with broccoli. Gorgeous, large portion of apple crumble.
There is pub grub in the bar area and a happy hour too. Next to Ramusake and Al Maeda, Copper Dog is a favourite with certain celebs in the UK.

MISS LILY'S
Miss Lily's from NYC is now open on the 1st floor of the Grand Sheraton Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Rd. They have a NEW BRUNCH offering.
Love it as it's an A LA CARTE brunch, not a big ticket item, all you can eat, set menu brunch. Try some ackee hummus with chargrilled scallions and the tropical fruit plate or eat a bit more. Jamaican Me Crazy!
Goat curry will be available in the evenings soon. Loved Adam Schop the exec chef from NYC.
Very funky furnishing here and equally funky, reggae soundtrack to match.

HAKKASAN
The Haskkasan brand is 15 years old and to celebrate they've created the Only At menu at all Hakkasans around the world. We ate dinner at Hakkasan Dubai on Friday and LOVED it.
Can recommend their sea bass fish soup with angelica root and goji berries, the unimpressive sounding but very impressive tasting fried scampi roll - that's plump prawns with crispy, vermicelli type pastry wrapped around them.
Try their excellent orange polenta cake again from the Only At menu, but order the hand pulled noodles from the a la carte menu , the best, freshest noodles I've eaten in Dubai.
New items featured on the Only At menu every 2 to 3 months for this 15th celebratory year.

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS
A brand new healthy cafe, great for breakfast, all the way form Australia, located on level 1 of the Almas Towers building in JLT. So think colourful breakfast bowls filled with chia, cacao concoctions and lots of beautiful chopped fresh fruit .
It's going to open for breakfast lunch and early dinner from roughly the 2nd week of October. Open early from 6.30am ! This is their 1st Dubai branch after Brisbane, I'm keen on trying some of their vegan ice cream, coca whip made with coconut water and superfoods!
The most Instagram friendly food you've ever seen!
NEWS

FOLLY BY NICK AND SCOTT
New restaurant Folly by Nick and Scott of Table 9 fame to open in Madinat Jumeriah very soon.
Quality dining in a very accessible location, with a rooftop cocktail bar as well. Maybe by the end of the year? Watch this space.

OKTOBER FEST IS HERE!
It's October so that means October Fest!
The Grand Hyatt is celebrating it's 10th year hosting October Fest, they have brand new look inside their tent!
You can boogie on down to the sounds of Die Kirchdorfer band flying in all the way from Munich and chomp on sausages and Apppffelstrudel!
AED 215 without alcoholic beverages and ADE 299 if you're imbibing

ARMANI HOTEL GOURMET 1010
The Armani hotel in the Burj Khalifa has a Gourmet 10/10 promotion from the 1st to the 10th of October, so you can dine at any of their restaurants for a four course set price AED 350. Go TODAY!
My vote would go to the Armani Amal, the Indian restaurant on the 5th floor, with its very impressive open plan kitchen that has 3 tandoors in it.
The promotion is also on at the Armani Hashi, Armani Deli and the Ristorante. From 7pm to 11pm. Or spend a bit more, so for AED 500 if you're part of a couple do their Sardinian Master Class on 8th if October from 11am tim 3pm. I'd actually like to do this very much! Next Saturday.

MONDAY'S AT THE MARRIOTT
The Observatory at the Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel and Suites is my choice for Deal of the Week.
Has to be Deal of the Week, beverages from AED 29 for the ladies and 50% off food, fabulous views for free because you're on the 52nd floor of the Marriott Harbour Hotel and suites in the Marina end of town at the Observatory restaurant.
They do have jazz on a Tuesday as well as GENTS night, AED 29 for their beverages, but they'd have to pay full price for any accompanying ladies!
