STK LONDON not just steak!

What’s STK London all about

STK London is a vibrant cocktail bar, lounge and restaurant serving contemporary, mostly Western cuisine. It reminded me of Spaghettini in Beverly Hills and the vibe is that of a sophisticated party place. DJ’s hit the decks after 10pm or so. There is also a  branch of STK in New York.

Where is STK London

STK London is located on the ground floor of the ME hotel in the Strand. It has it’s own entrance or you could go via the very modern ME hotel. The iconic Radio Rooftop bar is located almost next to STK London. You won’t be allowed in if you wear trainers though!

What’s the food like at STK London

I’m not a steak person at all and we told them this, but I was assured there would be ample choice. They were right. I highly recommend their Cornish Stone Bass served with artichokes, pancetta and sea herbs.

Yes it's called STK but it isn't just about steak. I loved my Cornish stone sea bass with artichokes, pancetta and samphire greens. Pretty reasonable at UK pounds 22 or roughly AED 125 in a very smart restaurant at the ME hotel in the Strand. We also had the corn fed bbq chicken dish and of course tried the grain fed steaks. These are what the restaurant is probably best known for food wise. There are also steaks of British origin and a special American snake river wagyu sirloin.

Don’t ignore the very good sides of parmesan truffle fries and spinach. I LOVED my burratina salad of smoked aubergine and tomatoes to start with. The tuna tataki from the raw bar was also excellent.

Head chef is Stefano Lorenzini and executive chef is Vincent Menager.

To Drink at STK London

There is a separate bar adjacent to the dining area that serves good cocktails but I loved the white leather dining booth areas. We finished our cocktails at the table.

Prices at STK

Prices for mains range from UK pounds 20 to 25 around AED 125 or so. Steaks are pricier depending on the type you choose, but think nearer UK pounds 35 on average that’s about AED 175.  So prices for a full 3 course meal are I’d say for a special occasion, but you could be more frugal and choose from the very good starters and salads and then simply add a couple of sides. STK London is a great place for a celebration with top quality food and drink.
