STAND UP PADDLE BOARDING IN DUBAI
Combine breakfast on the beach with a stand up paddle boarding in Dubai. We tried this a few weeks ago and would highly recommend it as a cool beach activity that’s fun and inexpensive. Great to do with visitors.
how does it work
Simply turn up at the KiteNSurf shop and book your paddling slot. It’s AED 80 for an hour that includes a breakfast option at the ParkHouse café. Keep your receipt, you’ll have to present that to ParkHouse after your paddling session to avail your free breakfast.

do I need any special equipment
No just bring yourself, everything is provided. The staff at KiteNSurf walk with you to the edge of the sea and also carry your boards and equipment! You are given some comprehensive but totally sensible instructions on how to handle your board. Kneel first then stand, then paddle, then enjoy! The board is Velcro attached to your ankle so you won’t lose it even if you come off.
what to wear
You will be on a slippery board on the sea, so you may fall in the water, you may want to swim straight after. Wear suitable swimwear and or swim shorts if you prefer. If it’s very hot then maybe consider a light tee shirt on top of your swim wear. Don’t wear anything on your feet.

is it difficult to paddle
I don’t think so, you may not go in the direction you’d like all the time, but it’s not difficult. You can sit astride the board and paddle, kneel or stand or do a combination. It’s a little tough on the arms to paddle for a whole hour so maybe share with a friend and take turns with the board. KiteNSurf are fine with this, but you only get one breakfast!
the free breakfast
Simply present your receipt to KiteNSurf, we gave our receipt in before we paddled so it didn’t get wet and you can order your breakfast before hand or when you finish your paddle session. We opted for scrambled eggs and avo on toast and paid a little extra for the eggs.
It’s served in a simple box and you eat facing the sea on wooden benches and tables. You also have options of overnight oats and pancakes. Coffee, which is excellent is included. They have some non dairy milks too. Almond and Soya I think.
If you rent a double kayak from KiteNSurf, for AED 120 for an hour, then 2 breakfasts are included from ParkHouse
but take note
ParkHouse is popular for kids birthday parties especially at the weekends, so it can get quite busy, turn up early by 9 or 9.30 am for your paddling session and you should be fine.
There are 2 ParkHouse cafes quite near each other on this stretch of beach. If you want to experience a more comprehensive meal, then try the one at Kite Beach. We like it there too but it’s always more lively.
The breakfast paddle and KiteNSurf deal is available every day, but it’s generally easier to paddle and kayak in the mornings as the sea is calmer. You need to be 14 years old to book a paddle board or kayak if you’re on your own. They accept Apple Pay as well.
