Saturday 2nd April. This weekend we’re trying a posh iftar Peruvian style, taking a Heritage Express tour of Dubai and getting edgy at the Urban Market!

Eating Out this weekend – Try a posh Iftar
We are eating our first iftar at Coya in the restaurant village adjacent to the Four Seasons hotel in Jumeirah this weekend. It specializes in Peruvian Japanese fusion cuisine called Nikkei.
It’s a great way you can try really good meals at high end places like this for much less than you would if you went for conventional a la carte dinner, so much healthier for you to eat early too. Check the special menu at Coya here but note you need to be seated between sunset and 7.30pm. This iftar is available everyday of Ramadan in Dubai. Do check out the private members lounge before you go, perfect for a special event.

Outing this weekend – Visit the Heritage Express
We’re taking a tour with the brilliant Heritage Express team this Ramadan in Dubai. We did this a while ago now and I went with about 7 of my friends all of whom are long term residents of Dubai and we learnt so so much about our city!
Start at the SMCCU in AL Fahidi and hear about the history and customs of Dubai in a very beautiful and evocative space majlis style and then get on the Heritage Express trolley bus for more stories and sites.
You do also take in Jumeirah mosque where there’s an art gallery and a live falcon and handler too. Combine it with an iftar if you choose the sunset option.
There’s a full post on our experience at the Heritage Express Dubai here with all the details you need to know before you go.

Events – Go to the Urban Market
Go and have a wander around the edgy URBAN MARKET Dubai this SATURDAY 2ND APRIL at the RADISSON RED HOTEL over in Silicon Oasis. Makes a change from a food market but we also like the Waterfront Market too.
So I liked this market because
- It wasn’t the “usual” things we see at arts and crafts markets at Dubai,
- The items were a bit different!
- The prices are all very affordable but it wasn’t a “flea market” or 2nd hand items for sale
- Many of the products were definitely hand made and the owners themselves were selling them.
I bought a lovely soya wax candle with lavender oil, I think called Made to Love that candle quite a large size for AED 65. Store open all day Sunday every Sunday at the same venue.

Something for you to COOK this WEEKEND
Try making these decilicious and super easy Energy Balls this weekend. Eat straight from the freezer and customise as you like. We made the ones below with dates and prunes as our sweetener! NO SUGAR AT ALL.

I found this blog very informative, keep up the good work. Thanks for the opportunity.
