Shopping In Bhutan is fun, not a mall in site! No trip to a new country would be complete without a What to Buy section so see what we brought home with us to Dubai.

Remember to see what the restrictions there may be in your country especially when it come to food items.
The local markets of both Paro and Punhaka are great places to look around but Thimpu has the most shops as it’s the capital.

We bought a lovely coffee table book from a book shop in Thimpu, great for the memories and a perfect present too.

I also bought a typical Bhutanese ladies silk jacket as well as some fabric to make something here in Dubai.
We always love fruit and vegetable markets and on our last day we bought some amazing vegetables, super fresh. Bhutan has all kinds of incense sticks as well. I bought lot’s of those, again from the market.

One of the ladies we met at our hotel from Turkey bought a beautifully, warm shawl made from yak wool!
We also brought back some Bhutanese whiskey from Duty Free in Paro.
