Try some classy Lebanese food at Cafe Beirut

Conveniently located in the Murooj complex downtown side of Dubai, this cool Lebanese cafe serves beautifully presented, tasty Lebanese food. We really liked the decor and especially the old black and while pictures I guess from Lebanon back in the day.
Typical Lebanese fare with some special twists on classic dishes a la Cafe Beirut. Just select your favourites and try something new as well. We went with some Lebanese friends so they did the ordering for us.
Plenty of vegetarian and non vegetarian food, so fattoush salad, hummus Cafe Beirut, vine leaves stuffed with rice, rocket salad with pomegranate molasses and aubergine fattet! That’s fried aubergines, topped with some lemony, yoghurt sauce and crunchy baked pita pieces on top, really good!
And that was just to start with! So go hungry! I’d like to try this place for a breakfast as well some day, it is open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 10 am till late!
There is talk of a beverage licence too but that’s not in place just yet. Lot’s of appetizing videos of what we had on the DoinDubai Instagram. Go hungry, nice for an evening out vibe, a bit different.
Go along to the famous La Perle by Dragone show for the special Eid Al Adha rate of just AED 159!

Most people have heard of La Perle by Dragone, located in a huge auditorium at Habtoor City side of Dubai. It’s a spectacular acrobatic or aquabatic show depicting the story of the pearling history, but it also incorporates present and Future Dubai.
So this type of show where you have gymnasts diving into water from great heights, apparently the stage gets flooded with water then drains in seconds! I think it’s the 3rd production of this kind so far, but this is the first permanent show in the region. It’s been created by Franco Dragone, and the shows last 90 minutes.
We saw something called the ‘O’ show at the Bellagio in Las Vegas many years ago in the same vein. Apparently there are only 13 rows in this theatre BUT it does seat close to 1300 people! So everyone gets pretty up close views!
HOW MUCH
There is a SPECIAL EID AL ADHA OFFER ON RIGHT NOW TILL 24th JULY all tickets only AED 159 if you can get 4 people to go in a group!
Shouldn’t be difficult! All the information on their website here La Perle By Dragone There are also dining packages and a cruise package too. So go now while it’s quiet!
Try some Thai cooking classes for kids at Mango Tree Bistro JBR

I like this one, kids ages 6 to 12 can try their hand at making some authentic Thai dishes at the Mango Tree Bistro restaurant affiliated to the Hilton JBR.
The restaurant is just opposite the Hilton, I think up an escalator. The classes are held every Sunday from 3pm to 5pm and the cost is just AED 69 per child! I think they also have plans in the pipeline for adult Thai cookery classes as well soon.
Do listen to our next show if you fancy some family style Italian cooking and eating too! I think the parents can order some drinks and snacks while the kids are cooking! Sounds wonderful.
Call ahead to book your places and do tell them you heard about them from Monica at DoinDubai
MONICA’S TRAVEL TIPS
How do I get access to the BUSINESS LOUNGE at the airport Terminal 2 ?
- If you’re an Emirates Gold Card holder and you’re travelling FLYDUBAI from Terminal 2 in Dubai then you are entitled to use the lounge there, BUT you cannot take in a guest in
- This is different to if you’re travelling on Emirates then you can take a guest into the lounge if you’re a gold card holder or above, different terminal as well
- There is a Marhaba lounge at Terminal 2 which you can access with the Lounge Key credit cards for free, but again no guests allowed and when we travelled and saw it it was too full to accommodate any more passengers
- Note also if you’re flying from Terminal 2 on FlyDubai you can also go to a dedicated queue for Gold and Silver skywards members
- If you would like the emergency exit seats, be aware there is a charge of around AED 250 per seat and you receive a voucher at check in for which you then need to go to a different queue to pay
- Then you queue again to get your boarding card!
