Food News New Wagamama on the Palm Jumeirah
Kaizen means Continuous Improvement and this concept has been adopted by the new Wagamama team! They have opened a big, bright, airy restaurant on the Palm Jumeirah’s Golden Mile (between Golden Mile buildings 2 and 3 the Galleria Mall) Makes a great change from eating at expensive hotel options on the Palm. A really good, new casual dining experience. We tried some dishes from their Omakase menu which means Chef’s Special. But I still love my ramen bowls!

Food News Roberto’s DIFCย
Michelin star canapรฉs at Roberto’s in DIFC provided sustenance while we heard about the latest in the group’s plans for Dubai. 3 New Announcements made by Amin Kadrie the chairperson of Skelmore group that own Roberto’s – another home grown dining brand born and raised in Dubai. Roberto’s is opening a little sister restaurant called Mercato! Again in DIFC but much more of a casual Italian dining place, high quality, imported ingredients but they reckon they can serve lunch for Dhs 50! Rectangular pizzas too! Abu Dhabi is getting it’s own Roberto’s in the basement by the waterside of the Rosewood hotel – 30% of Roberto’s DXB guests are from Abu Dhabi at the week ends. And they have teemed up with a 2 Michelin star chef Enrico Bartollini from Tuscany who’s the advisory, overseer chef in the current Roberto’s.
But if that’s too too pricey for you, try Dusty’s at DIFC – liked the fact it has a small menu, easy to choose and prices are much more reasonable than the swanky holy trilogy DIFC Gate 5 village restaurants! Loved the sound of some of their small bites: Onion Crostini is made with onion jam, goat’s cheese, pistachio and chilli Dhs 30 and grilled squid with chilli lime dressing Dhs 50. Based in Al Fattan Currency house, same building as Cle.
Food News Royal China
Still in DIFC andย Royal China has launched a new dinner menu and now their terrace is also open in the evenings. What should you eat there? Of course the duck pancakes because they are the most similar to London style, the prawn and chive dim sums and crushed ginger crumbs prawns. They have an excellent deal on at the moment all the dim sum you can eat and all the Chinese tea you can drink for Dhs 188 per person, all day on Friday and Saturdays. This deal is very popular Chinese families according to Anna their manager.
Food News Diwali Choice
Diwali Hindu Festival of Lights now very well known and celebrated by Hindus and and their friends and families all over the world. Lot’s of Diwali menus and offerings all over Dubai but I liked the sound of the Bombay Brasserie’s Vegetarian Menu specially for Dubai, very well priced for a hotel of this calibre. Dhs 195, on 10th and 11th of November 2015.
Food News Indian Food at the Armani hotel Burj Khalifa
We ate some really good Indian food that came partly from Amal Indian restaurant and partly from their Banqueting kitchens at the Armani hotel Burj Khalifa on Saturday at a charity function called Autism Rocks, a Dubai resident – Indian Sanjay Shah hosted the benefit at the Burj Khalifa to raise awareness of the condition that his youngest child Nikhil (aged 5) suffers quite severely from. And he’s just been granted permission to set up a proper educational centre specifically to deal and help other parents whose children are in the same position. So go onto the website Autism Rocks to find out more about it and think about donating or passing the link on to someone who’s looking for a good cause or just increase awareness about the organisation and the work it’s doing.
