SHORT ON LINE EXERCISE ROUTINES
Short Online Exercise
We’re all trying to keep fit and do some exercise while staying at home. But it can be boring, monotonous and sometimes just too long for you to even start. So here are some SHORT ONLINE exercise routines I found that worked and aren’t boring! Different abilities and skill levels are catered for, not boring and no hard burpees either! Try one at a time, or do them one after the other!
Some of videos are made by teachers who are great at what they do, but new to putting these short online exercises in a slick video, so some of the technical aspects aren’t too polished.
Don’t let that put you off. They started demonstrating at home during lockdown to share with others. But the links are effective in terms of exercise and have been compiled by real people. So give them a go.
23 minute medium Zumba
Very easy to follow routine, a mix of some more vigourous tracks, but overall a good get out of bed and just do it to wake you up. I don’t think you’ll build up too much of a sweat. It’s taught by one guy alone in a gym. Easy to follow. He posted it April 2020, no special skill levels or complicated choreography here and anyway no one is watching!
Nothing more offputting than seeing a room full of slim, perfectly groomed people making it look easy!
9 minutes high energy Zumba
Very rigourous 9 minute Zumba “warm up” she calls it. It’s fast but not complicated, really good to build up much needed energy, but great as it’s only 9 minutes. I like the fact there is a mix of body shapes and ages in this video. The teacher is for sure a professional though. Really good to get you fired up. I do it straight after the one above. Works well. As soon as I get up. Or try it during that afternoon dip time.
9 minutes Standing Postures Yoga Sequence
An experienced but new to video production teacher with a clear, purposeful voice. This is an instagram link to her iGTV channel no You Tube channel as yet. I can do this sequence just by listening carefully, I don’t need to look at the screen so that’s a big plus. Not really a beginners yoga sequence but a great 9 minute burst of energy. Try it in the late afternoon during that dreaded dip in the day. You’ll feel strong, as you do poses called Warrior, you make your body in the shape of a Big X. Women have 2 X chromosomes. 24 minutes Ham String Focus Yoga Sequence
I loved this under 30 minute yoga session. A young teacher with a calm, clear voice, I could almost do this without watching just by listening. But I do know the poses she’s referring to. It starts off with some simple, quiet breathing, then builds up to harder splits type postures but just do what you can. You do need 2 blocks and a strap or stretchy band. Great way to start your day, but you do need knowledge and some previous yoga practice to get the most of out this session. Recommended to me by Ashwinder Kaur who also does cool yoga sets on her instagram page here.
10 minutes Qigong No Leaping About
A brilliant, short, totally doable standing Qigong set. The teacher is experienced, has a good, clear, calm voice and if you can stand up in front of a screen, then you should do this one. Great for those who are very fit and for those who aren’t quite as energetic. You’ll hear words like power, tiger, mountain and of course energy. Very easy to do. Thank you to my website teacher in the UK for recommending this one.
Do some little exercise EVERY DAY. Even if you don’t feel like it, choose something that works for you. Let me know if you’d like to add a link here let me know. Please share this post with others, it really helps me and the blog.
