Nola Dubai is one of 3 restaurants in a subterranean world under JLT

Nola Dubai is actually called Nola Social House and Eaterie and opened in November 2015. You will never find it if you don’t know EXACTLY where to look! Expect New Orleans style food like crab cakes and empanadas. I liked the roasted sea bass and the guacamole was fine but a bit too over pureed. Basically good quality food you’d have with a few drinks to fill you up. We didn’t stay for desserts as the music by that point was getting a bit too loud for us older mothers!

Go to Cluster P of JLT, walk into the middle one of the 3 BlueBay Armada hotel buildings you see as you go up the ramp. Take the lift to the lower ground floor of the central building. Then follow the printed sticker footsteps to Nola, for quite a while. Ignore the first 2 restaurants you come to, these are Cocktail Kitchen and Mythos, keep going till you see Nola, they could have called it Narnia at this point! Ask for table outside on the narrow but perfectly acceptable terrace.

On Ladies nights if you are a table of Ladies only, they are strict about this, then ALL items on the normal dinner menu are 50% off. That’s a good deal, made better with Happy Hour lasting till 8pm. None of their voodoo type cocktails appealed to me or our party, but then we are older mothers! But if you wanted these then you could get 4 of them for FREE! Ask for a table outside and you do need to book in advance on Ladies Night. Perhaps go to Cocktail Kitchen, that was opening the day after we visited January 26th 2016, as we did for a coffee after or try a cocktail at the Tasting Bar as shown below, the Mythos Greek restaurant was also full, not sure if it was Ladies Night there too!
