FISH MARKET IN DUBAI
UPDATED FEB 2023
Welcome to our local fish market in Dubai – Souk Al Bahar 4 Fish – located in Um Suqueim.
A local wet fish market, selling a beautiful range of fresh, local seafood. It’s also very reasonably priced and popular with residents of all nationalities.
See what we like to buy and how to turn a visit there into a an authentic outing for you and your visitors.
Fresh oysters to eat on site only AED 10
Plump, juicy oysters are now available to eat at the fish market itself. I asked them to shuck 2 oysters for me to eat on site. AED 10 each. Fabulously fresh and they have fresh lemon wedges too.
If you want to eat in the area, you can eat at Dibba Bay Oyster hut itself open from 12pm, or at Azeema Seafood just behind the fish market but it also has a great outdoor terrace with shade, both places open from about 12pm.
This fish market in Dubai is based in Jumeirah and is a covered fish market with air conditioning.
Where is this fish market
It’s now called Souk Al Bahar 4 Fish, nowhere near Souk Al Bahar in Downtown, but along the seaside at the Fishermans Harbour in Um Suqueim 1. There is free parking available but it’s not always easy, especially at the weekends. Plenty of parking outside on the street though.
What can you expect to buy
All kinds of fresh fish, shellfish and seafood. Think squid, red snappers, sea bass, different types of prawns, lobsters and crabs. Most recently we saw giant parrot fish, sometimes from Oman.
Can you have your fish cleaned at the market
Yes you can for a very reasonable price. It’s in a section behind the fish market but it gets very busy, so be prepared to wait.
Take your own ice box, they will clean your fish, fill with ice and then it’s easier for you to take your fish away.

Can I eat my fish there at the fish market itself
There is provision to have your fish prepared, spiced and cooked at the section just passed where you have it cleaned up.
So you can take it away like this or you opt to eat it there. The ac room is very basic though. It’s a good place to wait while your fish is being cleaned.

We're very fussy about who we want our brand associated with, Monica is one of a small select group of Dubai media we love to work with.
TACTICAL AGENCY ON BEHALF OF OUR TABLE UAE
I was pleasantly surprised with the size and interest of the audience at the Emirates Lit Fest talk for my book: Saudi Arabia - Vision or Mirage. I have no doubt this engagement is down to your excellent radio mention ahead of the event.
Thank you Monica

If I happened to be in that area, worms wouldn’t be on the top of my list for bait. Go to the market and get some shrimp, squid, or some kind of fish to make cutbait. Use that for bait and see what you catch. Good luck man!
